About Superior Performance Auto
Superior Performance Auto is committed to providing superior automotive maintenance and repair services while delivering an exceptional customer experience. We take pride in our workmanship, honest recommendations, and commitment to customer satisfaction and education.
We believe in educating our customers about their vehicles, helping them make informed decisions, and building long-lasting relationships through transparency, trust, and superior service. We want every customer to leave feeling informed, respected, and confident in the decisions they make.
We are a team-oriented shop that values communication, accountability, continuous improvement, and a positive work environment. As we work toward expanding our business, we are looking for someone who wants to grow with us and contribute to our long-term success.

Position Overview:
We are looking for an Entry-Level Automotive Service Advisor who enjoys working with people, has sales experience, and is eager to learn the automotive service industry.
Previous sales experience is required, but previous automotive experience is not. We are willing to train the right person who has strong communication skills, a customer-first mindset, a willingness to learn, and a desire to build a career with our company.
The Service Advisor serves as the primary point of contact between customers and our technicians. This person helps customers understand their vehicle’s needs, communicates recommendations, manages repair orders, and ensures customers receive an exceptional service experience.
At Superior Performance Auto, customer education is a major part of the job. Our Digital Vehicle Inspections help customers see what our technicians see, understand recommended repairs, and make informed decisions without feeling pressured.

Our Sales Philosophy:
At Superior Performance Auto, we believe the best sales approach is built on education, trust, and transparency—not pressure. We want our customers to understand their vehicle’s needs, the importance and urgency of recommended repairs, and the options available to them. Through our Digital Vehicle Inspections, we separate repairs that need immediate attention from those that can be planned for the future, helping customers prioritize work based on both their vehicle’s needs and their budget.
We are looking for a Service Advisor who is confident in their sales abilities but understands that success is not about pressuring customers into spending money. It’s about listening, educating, making honest recommendations, and building long-term relationships.

Key Responsibilities
Customer Service and Communication:
  • Welcome customers professionally and create a positive, helpful service experience.
  • Listen carefully to customer concerns, ask appropriate questions, and document vehicle symptoms accurately.
  • Explain recommended services and repairs in clear, understandable language.
  • Keep customers informed about repair progress, additional findings, estimated costs, and completion times.
  • Build customer trust through honesty, transparency, follow-through, and consistent communication.

Digital Vehicle Inspections (DVIs) and Customer Education:
  • Review Digital Vehicle Inspections submitted by technicians, including photos and videos documenting vehicle conditions and repair recommendations.
  • Verify that inspection findings and supporting images are accurate, complete, and ready to share with the customer.
  • Make necessary updates or approve inspection content before sending it to the customer.
  • Coordinate the completed DVI with the repair estimate and send both to the customer for review.
  • Explain the condition of the vehicle, why repairs are recommended, and what may happen if certain repairs are delayed.
  • Help customers prioritize work based on safety, vehicle condition, urgency, and their available budget.
  • Educate customers and support their decisions without pressuring them to approve work they cannot afford or are not ready to authorize.

Sales and Service Recommendations:
  • Use consultative sales skills to identify customer needs and explain appropriate services.
  • Present repair estimates and recommendations accurately and confidently.
  • Help customers understand the value and importance of recommended maintenance and repairs.
  • Work with customers to determine practical repair priorities that respect both their vehicle’s needs and their budget.
  • Follow up on recommendations and future maintenance needs when appropriate.
  • Focus on customer satisfaction, trust, and long-term relationships rather than high-pressure sales tactics.

Repair Order and Shop Coordination:
  • Schedule appointments and coordinate workflow with technicians.
  • Create, maintain, and update repair orders accurately.
  • Communicate with technicians to clarify inspection findings, repair needs, parts requirements, and estimated completion times.
  • Review repair orders for accuracy and completeness before closing them.
  • Obtain customer authorization before proceeding with additional work.
  • Process invoices and payments and help ensure a smooth pickup experience.
  • Maintain accurate customer records and follow established shop procedures.

Teamwork and Professional Development:
  • Work collaboratively with technicians and other team members to keep the shop running efficiently.
  • Communicate respectfully, take responsibility for assigned tasks, and support the success of the entire team.
  • Accept coaching and feedback and apply what you learn.
  • Learn our service procedures, software, products, and customer communication standards.
  • Contribute to a positive, organized, and professional workplace.

Qualifications
Required:
  • Previous sales experience is required. Experience in retail sales, customer service sales, inside sales, or a similar customer-facing sales role is welcome.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • A genuine interest in helping people understand their options and make informed decisions.
  • A consultative, customer-first approach to sales.
  • A team-oriented attitude and willingness to work collaboratively.
  • Dependability, accountability, and attention to detail.
  • Coachability and a willingness to learn new skills and procedures.
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to learn shop management software.

Preferred:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in customer service, and sales.
  • An interest in vehicles, automotive maintenance, or the automotive repair industry.
Automotive experience is not required. We are willing to train someone who brings the right attitude, sales experience, work ethic, and commitment to customer education.

Training and Development:
We understand that a new Service Advisor may not have automotive industry experience. We will provide on-the-job training in areas such as:
  • Basic automotive maintenance and repair terminology.
  • Customer communication and service advisor procedures.
  • Digital Vehicle Inspections and explaining technician findings.
  • Repair order management and estimate preparation.
  • Scheduling, workflow coordination, and shop procedures.
  • Service recommendations, maintenance intervals, and repair prioritization.
  • Customer relationship building and our no-pressure sales approach.
  • Service Advisor classes through our coaching platform ATI
We want you to develop the knowledge and confidence needed to succeed in the position while providing customers with an excellent experience.
